Pack of 4 melts · Weight per melt: 11g · For use in traditional oil burners with a Tea Light (not electric) · 100% pure Australian beeswax — add your own essential oils · Reusable — not single use

Pure beeswax, ready for whatever essential oil you love. These hand-poured beeswax melts are made from 100% pure Australian beeswax — no synthetic fragrances, no additives, no dilutions. Place a melt in your traditional oil burner, light a beeswax Tea Light underneath, and add a few drops of your favourite essential oil to the melted wax. The pure beeswax acts as a completely natural, chemical-free carrier — diffusing your chosen scent gently and cleanly into the room.

Even without essential oils, the natural honey aroma of pure beeswax drifts through the room beautifully on its own. But the beauty of a pure beeswax melt is that it works with whatever you have at home — lavender for calm, eucalyptus for clarity, or anything else from your collection. Because beeswax has its own natural aroma, you may find you need a few extra drops of essential oil to let your chosen fragrance come through fully.

Made by Suz in Port Stephens from the same pure Australian beeswax I use in every hand-poured candle — sourced directly from NSW beekeepers and cleaned by hand since 2009.

How to use your beeswax melts

Start with just one melt in your burner dish to gauge how much room you have — all oil burners are designed differently and dish sizes vary considerably. Once melted, add a few drops of your chosen essential oil directly to the liquid wax. When you've finished, extinguish the Tea Light and allow the wax to solidify — it can be remelted again and again. Simply add a few drops of essential oil each time you use it. Suz uses her own melts for up to six months before replacing. These melts are not suitable for electric wax warmers.

    Safer than water

Unlike water, beeswax won't evaporate in the burner dish — which means no risk of the dish running dry, no spitting or hissing as the last drops of water burn off, and no scorched essential oils. The beeswax simply melts, holds your oil, and solidifies again when you're done.

Why beeswax is the perfect carrier

Unlike paraffin, soy, or palm wax melts — which dominate the market and gift store shelves and typically contain artificial fragrance oils — pure beeswax is completely neutral. It carries and diffuses your chosen essential oil without competing with it or adding any synthetic chemicals to the mix. What you smell is purely what you added, carried on the cleanest possible wax base.

    Use my Tea Lights underneath

For the best results, use one of my pure beeswax Tea Lights in the burner beneath your melt — that way everything in your burner is 100% pure beeswax and completely chemical-free from top to bottom.

Traditional oil burner users · Essential oil lovers · Chemical-free homes · Everyday home ambience · Aromatherapy · Pairing with our pure beeswax Tea Lights · Anyone switching from synthetic wax melts or water

    Hours:

    NEVER LEAVE BURNING CANDLES UNATTENDED
Always stay within sight of a burning candle. Extinguish all candles before leaving the room or going to sleep. Never place a burning candle near curtains, fabric or other flammable materials.

ALWAYS BURN ON A SUITABLE SURFACE
Place your candle on a heat-proof plate or purpose-made candle holder before lighting. This protects your surfaces from heat and catches any wax if needed.

    WICK TRIMMING
Before each burn, trim your wick to 5–6mm. A well-trimmed wick keeps the flame steady, reduces a chance of smoke, and helps your candle burn evenly. If the wick develops a small mushroom-shaped tip, extinguish and trim it away before relighting.

    KEEP OUT OF DRAFTS
Suz E Bee Candles burn at their best in a still environment. Keep your candle away from open windows, fans, and air conditioning vents. A flickering flame isn't just distracting — it causes uneven burning, can cause dripping and shortens your candle's life.

    BURN TIME
Allow your Pillar candle to burn for at least two hours for its first burn — this prevents tunnelling and ensures an even burn every time. As a general guide, allow at least one hour of burn time for every 2.5cm of your candle's diameter.

Allow your candle to cool and resolidify completely between burn sessions.

    TEA LIGHT CANDLES
Due to their design, Tea Light candles must always be burned in a Tea Light cup. Suz E Bee Candles Tea Lights are designed to burn in one complete session.

    VOTIVE CANDLES
Due to their fluted design, votive candles must always be burned in a specific votive holder. Votives are designed to liquefy fully as they burn, and a proper holder keeps all that beautiful melted wax contained. Allow your votive to burn for a minimum of 2 hours per session so the wax melts evenly to the edges — extinguishing too soon can cause tunnelling and leave wax clinging to the sides.

    EXTINGUISHING YOUR CANDLE
Dipping your wick is a far better way to put out a Suz E Bee candle. Blowing out a candle risks spattering hot wax, leaves a smoking wick, and sends that lingering burnt smell drifting through the room — right over the top of the lovely aroma your candle has been building.

Instead, use a wick dipper to gently push the wick down into the pool of molten wax to extinguish the flame, then straighten it back up. A purpose-made wick dipper is ideal, but the end of a pencil or wooden skewer works just as well. No wax splatter, just a tiny wisp of smoke — and your wick is perfectly primed and ready for next time.

    WICK STRAIGHTENING
Check that your wick is centred and upright before lighting. A leaning wick can cause uneven burning and wasted wax. Monitor whilst burning and straighten where needed. Straightening it while the wax is still warm and soft after extinguishing each time is good practice — it only takes a second.

    CANDLE END OF LIFE
Your candle should stop burning when approximately 1cm of wax remains at the base. Every Suz E Bee candle is designed this way intentionally — at this point the wick will extinguish itself naturally as it reaches the remaining wax.

    BEESWAX BLOOM
You may notice a powdery white or dusty film appear on the surface of your candle over time. This is called bloom, and it's completely natural — it's actually a sign of pure beeswax. Gently buff it away with a soft cloth if you prefer, or simply leave it. It won't affect how your candle burns.
